Javid Najafov

Project/Construction Management/Dispute Resolution

Born in 1982, comes from Baku, Azerbaijan.

Graduated in 2005 from Fine Arts University (Istanbul, Turkey) with degree (B.Arch) in “Architecture”, and later acquired Master’s Degree in “Construction Law and Dispute Resolution” from King’s College London in 2021.

Javid has over a decade of experience in the building industry, encompassing project management as well as designing, developing, planning and programming of major building works including mixed-use residential complexes, schools, theaters, retail facilities, high-rise offices and big-scale sports venues with areas of work expertise embracing managing building and construction works, tendering and negotiating contracts of various types (FIDIC, CMAA), project and design management, supervision of project teams, quality assurance and control, client and authorities (local and international) liaison.

His current career has an extensive experience in the CIS region (Russian Federation, Georgia and Azerbaijan) with a detailed understanding of the SNiP/GOST standards and procedures, ensuring their compatibility with European and International Standards (EN, BS, IBC).

Javid was also granted with the Master’s Certificate (GWCPM) in Project Management from George Washington University, School of Business.

In 2011, he received an “Honorary Decree” award by the President of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).

In 2015, Javid was honored to receive the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on conferring the honorary rank of a “Merited Engineer”.

Javid is a member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London, UK) since 2022.
