The ground-breaking ceremony for the new complex was held in September 2011 with the construction works commenced in June 2012 and completed on October 2015. As the basis of process design, DOW Ultrafiltration (UF) knowhow incorporating modules, which use a double-walled, hollow fiber polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) membrane technology, capable of holding particles as large as 0.01 microns were implemented. The plant has a treatment capacity of 570.000m³ per day, capable of supplying potable water for three million people in the capital city Baku. The complex consists of coarse screen building, raw water tank (10.000m3), UF water treatment plant, treated water tank (10.000m3), pumping station (8m3/sec), 4 surge tanks and supporting building such as neutralization tank, chemical storage tanks, power station (14.83 MVA), laboratories, office area etc.

The services provided were project management in full scope, including tender, procurement, contract, cost, programme management, construction supervision, building permit and authorities liaison, as well as the full period Client’s representation.
